Honoring the Xicana Moratorium

Live Music-Panel Discussion-Art Demos-Food-Exhibitions

Sat, Aug 31

1-5pm

EastSide Cultural Center

2277 International Blvd, Oakland

FREE community event

Please join us in honoring the legacy of Xicana Moratorium! An anti-military movement created in the 1970’s by Chicano students and activists fighting against the Vietnam war. This demonstration of more than 30,000 Chicanos sparked a larger social movement! A social movement that is still very much present within our black and brown communities all across the world today. 40 plus years later we continue to use our voice, our art and community to highlight anti imperialism and anti militarization. Join us in a day filled with knowledge, cultura, delicious homemade food, kids activities, art stations and a chance to listen in on a panel of amazing speakers.
