Art of the African Diaspora: Perspectives from the East Side

Exhibition Dates: January 25 - April 19, 2024

Artists: Ajuan Mance, Bertrell Smith, Callan Porter-Romero, Daniel White, & Derrick Bell

Art of the African Diaspora: Perspectives from the East Side features 5 artists who live and work in East Oakland. Together this group of artists represent a diverse perspective, bringing forward paintings and sculptural works that speak to our relationships we hold, our connections to each other and the community that surrounds us. This exhibition will highlight each artist, both as an artist and as a member of the East Oakland community.

This exhibition is a satellite of the exhibition at Richmond Art Center called Art of the African Diaspora, formally known as Art of Living Black.
