Inez Williams, beloved Soledad Mother, died at 94 on October 8, 2023 in Oakland, California.

The most long-lived of the three Soledad Mothers, Inez Williams helped to inspire and organize the radical Black prison movement of the 1970s.

CARP has further commemorated Williams life and organizing for their Letters to Liberation: Black August exhibition in collaboration with Afro Portals (Artist as First Responder) at Black Cultural Zone on August 24, 2024
